Madeline CHAN
SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Madeline graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (2nd Upper Class) from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and is a practicing Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore.
Her main practice area is in litigation before the Singapore High Court and Court of Appeal, having worked with multiple Senior Counsel on cases that set precedent in areas of commercial law, family law and international arbitration law. From family disputes to multi-million dollar shareholder disputes, Madeline is familiar with taking on complex questions of law, lengthy procedural history and complicated facts. She is also experienced running cases in parallel with international actions, having formulating coordinated litigation strategies for a multi-national clients to execute across multiple jurisdictions.
Outside the Courts, Madeline is well-versed in investigations work. She has conducted internal investigations for institutions, on matters such as sexual misconduct and harassment. She has also assisted corporate clients to navigate high-stakes regulatory inquiries, including safety inquiries by agencies such as the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and corruption and money-laundering inquiries involving government-related entities in the Middle East.
Out of legal practice, Madeline is the founder of Mad Roaster, a social enterprise café that sells coffee in support of refugee livelihoods. From her experience building a business from the ground up, she is able to support clients with practical, commercial perspectives on their legal issues.
