Mark Yeo, Recognised as Top-Rated Criminal Defence Lawyer by The Straits Times

Mark Yeo, Singapore’s Top-Rated Criminal Defence Lawyer by The Straits Times

We are excited to share that Mark Yeo,  our Director and Co-founder, has been recognised by The Straits Times as one of Singapore’s Top-Rated Criminal Defence Lawyer 2025 for Criminal Law. This recognition demonstrates that youth does not equate to inexperience or subpar service.

Fortress Law began operations in November 2023, driven by a shared vision that young practitioners can provide exceptional legal services while maintaining a work-life balance. In an industry where young lawyers either hesitate to enter private practice or often leave within their first five years, our firm aspires to challenge this narrative. We aim to lead the way in establishing a new way of practicing law.

Mark's journey in the legal field has been marked by a couple of significant cases. He acted for Mahadi bin Muhammad Mukhtar, an ex-Aetos officer charged with armed robbery. Through Mark's efforts in both the High Court and the Court of Appeal, Mahadi's sentence was reduced. Read more about the case here.

Additionally, Mark represented Derek Ng De Ren, a young man charged with sending death threats to Neal Maupay, a professional footballer in the English Premier League, leading to a fair resolution for his client. Learn more about this case here.

We are very heartened that our clients and peers recognise our firm as part of the Best Law Firms 2025, and Top-Rated Lawyers 2025. It affirms our belief that it is possible to provide great legal services without burning ourselves out at the same time, and spurs us on in this journey. At Fortress Law, we are committed to providing a place where young legal practitioners can thrive and deliver outstanding legal representation without compromising their personal lives.
